April 29: Matthew Arndt

On April 29, at 1:30 pm in 150 CSM6, Matthew Arndt, an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa School of Music, will give a paper entitled “Schenkerian Unrolling and Schoenbergian Unfolding.” Professor Arndt’s research lies mainly in the history of music theory, music theory pedagogy, and their intersection. He is also involved in analysis and criticism, particularly of eighteenth- to early-twentieth-century Austro-German music and of medieval and modern Georgian sacred music.
